Join L'Esprit M

Our aim is to help reduce the incidence of breast cancer by spreading the message and promoting your physical well-being, in a festive atmosphere that's not obsessed with results or performance.

Roll for Pink Ribbon

For L'Esprit M, riding for the Pink Ribbon means showing solidarity and continuing our commitment to the role of women in the world of motorcycling (in the same way as riding for the DGR, against testicular and prostate cancer). On October 6, 2024, we're organizing a motorcycle ride to celebrate the freedom to ride, the freedom to live our passion for motorcycling.

Riding with L'Esprit M means making a donation

We'll be asking you to contribute €25.00 per helmet, all of which will be donated to the Ruban Rose association to help in the fight against breast cancer.

Pink October & The Pink Ribbon

Pink October

In France, breast cancer is still the leading cancer in women in terms of the number of new cases (around 49,000) and deaths (11,900). Unfortunately, these figures are not decreasing. Yet, detected at an early stage, breast cancer can not only be cured in over 90% of cases, but also treated with less aggressive therapies.

Le Ruban Rose association

Association loi 1901 Ruban Rose is a non-profit organization created in 1994. It has two main missions: to support research and to inform and raise awareness of breast cancer. To this end, it launches information campaigns, organizes events and distributes awareness kitskits, etc.

Prevention, the first battle against (breast) cancer

early detection & mammography

Despite advances in treatment, early detection is still one of the most effective weapons in the fight against breast cancer. Remember to get yourself screened, have a baseline mammogram from the age of 40 and then have it renewed regularly. From the age of 50, join the organized breast cancer screening program set up by the public authorities every 2 years.

Prevention at every age, in the privacy of your home

Self-palpation, the little gesture that saves! And since laughing and/or singing helps us remember the right reflexes... here's a reminder by Gérémy Crédeville. Many thanks to him! Share this video without moderation!

The Femmes et Moto association

Femmes et moto is an association that contributes to the evolution of the place of women in the world of motorcycling.

The association was born in 2022 under the impetus of Alice, the president, who wanted to offer a motorcycle festival exclusively for women. She wanted to offer, in France, as she had experienced in Germany and Italy, a time of gathering far from judgments and comparisons, where it's possible to share one's fears, as well as one's exploits.

Representing 20% of driving licenses, women need female role models in the motorcycle world, peer exchange and sisterhood.

Femmes & Moto and L'Esprit M

It's a story that began two and a half years ago, when a number of our members started coming to L'Esprit M - Bar Resto moto, for a drink and an aperitif. Our discussions then led to our first collaboration. As a result, a day dedicated to female motorcyclists was held on March 1, 2023. On the program: mastering standing mobility around the motorcycle, how to get your bike up after a fall, taking part in a mecha-tutorial on the braking system, how to fill in a report in partnership with Mutuelle des Motards.

L'Esprit M - Motorcycle trip to Femmes et Moto Camp 2024!

Here we are, less than a week away from the second edition of Femmes et Moto & Camp.

For me, it will be the first. I'll be there with my sister, as exhibitors, delighted to talk to you about L'Esprit M - Voyage à moto, the company I run, but also about travel in general. I'll be doing a workshop on preparing and loading your travel kit. In the evening, we'll also be there as participants, happy to be able to share and exchange views on our practices as bikers, and not only!

Let's play a motorcycle apéro game

Let's play a motorcycle apéro game

L'Esprit M logo - Motorcycle trip featuring a road through the mountains in the center, with the company name on the outside.

Let's play a motorcycle party game. The first 100% motorcycle party game: Ride' Trippers. Pure pleasure, fun and general motorcycle knowledge.

Who's behind Ride' Trippers

La Pilote c’est moi !
La raison pour laquelle j’ai créé ce jeu, ce n’est pas parce que je suis une pilote qui va vite, mais parce qu’à défaut de faire des chronos, j’ai voulu mettre de l’essence dans votre vie !
”

The game's creator? LILY Motarde & Pistarde!

”

Heels & Handlebars and L'Esprit M

We discovered Alyson on the networks (insta Talons et Guidon), then had the chance to see her in real life at the motorcycle show, and that's where the magic happened! Marjolaine and Alison were unstoppable! Sharing experiences, know-how and anecdotes, they were a real pleasure to listen to (dixit Pierre-Christophe).

And so, quite naturally, L'Esprit M has added the Guide des motardes and the Ride' Trippers game!

Let's play a motorcycle apéro game? Yes, but how?

Do you love motorcycling? Riding with your biker buddies? Laughing and making fun of them when they're out riding? Do you think you can answer all the questions about this world? Then this is the game for you!

The motorcycle game concept

The idea is to test your general knowledge of motorcycling while having a laugh! Enjoy it on a roadtrip, a track day or a cross-country day, between two acrobatic tricks in a parking lot, or even over a drink with your buddies (after the ride!). Ride' Trippers is a simple game, made up entirely of cards, with clear rules and no limits on the number of players. As long as you can read, anyone can play... even if you're slow on the bike!

From age 10, minimum of 3 drivers to start a game (and 72 to finish!). Approx. 30 min. of unlimited repetition.

130 cards of pure pleasure

Three types of cards to get the handles and brains turning: the "Handlebars" are for questions about riders, events, competitions, important people, etc.... Engine" questions are about motorcycles or mechanics. And last but not least, the "Tools" section is for pledges, brakes or, on the contrary, nudges aimed at yourself or other players.

Will you be "Biker of the Year" if you're first past the chequered flag, or the circuit's "Leek" if you're dead last? Either way, who cares? The aim is to have fun!

Part One

Let's play a motorcycle party game together!

When: Thursday, October 17, 2024 from 6:30pm (then every two months)
Where: at L'Esprit M (Bar Restaurant & Motorcycle Travel Agency in Valence)!
How: partly collective

L'Esprit M - Bar Resto moto during the game

The Esprit M - Bar Resto moto team will be with you every step of the way. Drinks include local beers, local wines and house cocktails. The menu also includes carefully selected softs and house mocktails designed and created by our barman. And if you're feeling a bit peckish, you'll enjoy our famous platters of regional specialities (charcuterie, cheese, mixed, vegan). To finish on a sweet note, you can try our homemade brownie, if you feel like it!

My bike after the summer

My bike after the summer

L'Esprit M logo - Motorcycle trip featuring a road through the mountains in the center, with the company name on the outside.

My motorcycle after the summer? Summer's coming to an end, the vacations are over and it's time to get back to work... Yikes! But what great memories we've had with our bikes, whether in a group or solo, adventure or just the pleasure of riding!
However, we mustn't let our beautiful bikes languish in a corner of the garage. First of all, we still have a multitude of beautiful WE to come, so we can enjoy the end of summer and a colorful autumn. So let's take each other by the hand, the time has come for back-to-school homework, and a little check-up is in order.

where did we drive, what does it involve?

And yes, all summer long the cicada has been driving around without a care in the world, but today the ant has to take care of her baby! So spoke Monsieur de La Fontaine of his heavily soiled carriage, and you? Where did you leave your erasers, chains and other luggage?

If you've chosen the warmth of the beach, the softness of sea spray and a moonlit barbecue, how are you going to manage your mount? Sand, salt, sunscreen! Everything a motorcycle hates.

Motorcycles and sand

So let's have a good blast with the water jet and not the karcher, please. After all, the sand hidden in every nook and cranny would have filed away furiously with the force of the water jet. With a soft sponge and a bar of soap, here's everything you need to get the beauty back in shape. For once, we'll be able to insist on degreasing the bearings (always by hand) to remove the small grains. Next, we'll need to regrind each component correctly. The most classic ones, cable sheath chains, but also the forgotten ones, foot braces and axles.

Motorcycles and salt

Finally, ride on the beach and evening spray have deposited this salt, so useful against ice but disastrous for chrome and steel. Here, a good rinse and a check of the water retention points will suffice.
Speaking of salt, less visible but just as harmful is the salt you'll have gleaned from the RGA. Same problem, same solution. A solution that we'll implement before tackling the mountain's real problem: tar! (Less of a problem by the sea, I'd say). Here, you'll need elbow grease and a good product. The 3-in-1 works well, but if it doesn't, switch to specialized products. Your rims and swingarm axles will thank you!

Motorcycles and insects

Finally, an important point for mountain and country people: your fork tubes. It may not seem like it, but cicadas and other flying ants (mentioned above) have chitin so strong that it could damage your spinnaker seals, after you've killed them rolling down bucolic roads at over 70km/h!

routine checks

It's as simple as that, but necessary! For everyone, your rubbers, the ones that connect you to the road. No nail, no screw, no cut? Is the valve cap still there? Pressure still good? That's just fine. And while you're on the wheel, take a look at the brake pads and brakes. Before reassembling, grease the chain (after cleaning), hot if possible, as the grease will penetrate the links better. Check sprocket teeth and tension. Finally, remember to check all cables, lights and fluids on the top...

The rest will come during the tutorial...

H3

...

H3

...

An appointment with your mechanic or dealer?

Something wrong? Low or dark brake fluid? Unless you're well equipped, leave it to your mechanic. A pro for life is always better. For tires, you can always take the wheel to your mechanic, but don't take the risk of dismantling it. Remember that even seasoned mechanics have died while dismantling a tire...
And a little annual check-up, fluids and suitcase is still a good idea before setting off again for a colorful autumn!

We'll talk about it during the tutorial!

and your photos of your outings!

A selection of the most beautiful will be published here, and the most original will win a cocktail!

Women on motorcycles

Women on motorcycles

L'Esprit M logo - Motorcycle trip featuring a road through the mountains in the center, with the company name on the outside.

Women on motorcycles... what a vast and exciting program!

Current situation

The majority view of women in the world of motorcycling

" Today, it's clear, a woman must dress in pink... or white (with a waiver, of course!) and the adornment will be in butterfly or arabesque... But it's obvious, they shouldn't be left to choose, motorcycling is a man's thing, the passenger must respond to the frame. "

Whether or not individuals have such strong opinions, the problem remains: even if attitudes are changing, the major clothing brands and chains continue to offer limited collections in terms of variety of styles, colors, sizes, body types...

Personally, to find the right motorcycle boots for me, I go for the men's range, which offers a much wider choice of models for different riding styles, especially enduro. Anyway, with my round calves, I can't close women's boots! Marjolaine

Women on motorcycles for L'Esprit M

L'Esprit M believes that at moto, as in the corporate world and in society in general, freedom to act and the promotion of talent should be parity. So, to ensure that our values are not just fine words, L'Esprit M takes concrete action on a daily basis to contribute to a better balance between men and women.

Actions implemented by L'Esprit M

Women on motorcycles and their outfits

At L'Esprit M, we've decided to put the spotlight on choice and diversity for women bikers, who are all too often confined to the role of SDS. You only have to look at the catalogs of the major brands to realize that women are passengers, not riders. And whether she's in one or the other of these roles, she has little choice of equipment. From the outset, we've worked with equipment brands like Eudoxie and Helstons, who offer choices and creations that are out of the ordinary, with a style all their own. Many thanks to them.

We're also keen to offer clothing brands designed for bikers, by bikers. Collections of adapted clothing in a variety of styles, often absent from the OEM chains (motorcycle mass retailers). For example, Théia, Wildust Sisters, Eudoxie... are present in our our store.

For our store, our philosophy guides us every day. It's the same one that drives us in everything we do: pleasure, aesthetics, comfort, quality and, of course, safety. And so, after Eudoxie, Helstons, Lamazuna and our local craftsmen, we now welcome Théia moto with its classy, comfortable range, designed for all women bikers, so you can ride as much as you like!

Influential women in the motorcycle world

L'Esprit M continues its commitment to women bikers by working with women and associations who are changing the face of motorcycling. For example:
  • The organization of a special day for Femmes et Moto members. This day, co-organized with members of the association, included a mechanical workshop, motorcycle mobility and an insurance workshop. And let's not forget the culinary delights, with a tasty snack prepared by our chef, Christophe.
  • Elodie and Abigaïl's request for sponsorship. Encouraged by Abigaïl's participation in our mecha tutorials, they came to us to ask for financial support for their first Raid Passion Désert. And once again, L'Esprit M was there! Free use of premises and staff for late-night salsa parties!

Out-of-the-ordinary biker experiences

We're delighted to have books written by women bikers on our shelves.

We're also proud to be able to offer them a platform on our premises. In June 2022, Anne-France Dautheville came to tell us about some of the stages of her journey (with autographs). At the end of 2023, the Desert Princesses (Abigaïl and Elodie) came to tell us about their first raid in the Moroccan desert...

And we don't intend to stop there. If you'd like to share your motorcycling adventures with Esprit M, contact us at so we can organize the event together.

Women on motorcycles make their festivals

L'Esprit M is also involved in promoting women in the world of motorcycling. We make it a point of honor to take part in events where women in the world of motorcycling are showcased. The Soro Motorshowunder the aegis of Eric Bernard, showcased a world that was both more intimate and more powerful. Women who are finally finding their place, and who know how to put forward their needs, whether as passengers or drivers! It's also thanks to this show that we've met some wonderful people with strong and exciting projects, including of course Estelle and her famous Théia brand, which we're honored to present to you.

Women in positions of responsibility, in the motorcycle world too!

As charity begins at home, L'Esprit M is also about true parity. Marjolaine and Pierre-Christophe are a true couple of managing partners, a man and a woman on an equal footing, each working in his or her own area of expertise, with the same status and the same salary.

What's in store for women bikers with L'Esprit M?

And what's next? First, there's the Femmes et Moto & Camp (article link) from September 20 to 22, 2024. A new story is being written with this active and committed association. We'll be there as a tour operator, delighted to welcome you, to present our philosophy and destinations, and to talk about preparing your trousseau for a successful motorcycle road trip.

In the spring of 2025, the second Soro Motorshow will be held, and that's quite a program.

And in between, we'll take you along the wet, leafy paths of autumn, over the snow of the Vercors this winter, and in spring along the winding back roads of the Vercors and the dusty, stony paths we know so well. We'd be delighted to show you that with the right guide, a small group, patience and confidence, these tours are accessible to everyone.

The female biker is a niche within a niche! Today, L'Esprit M is also a UFO in the world of motorcycling. It's a place to live, with a bar, restaurant and concerts, but also a place to get away from it all, with motorcycle trips and our "magic monkeys". magic monkeys " ! In this sometimes harsh world, we're also keen to promote pleasure and comfort for all. Over 400m² of space welcomes you in 4 distinct areas. And when it comes to travel, you'll be riding in comfort, not as a "mule". mule "You don't have to be a mule to carry all the gear, with no mental burden (we'll take it!). You'll enjoy the present moment: breaks, luggage management, tastings, discoveries, moments of well-being, if you wish...

A new range of motorcycle equipment for women

Our meeting with Estelle

We met Estelle at the first edition of the Soro Motorshow, a brand-new motorcycle event that celebrates women and their achievements in the world of motorcycling. Estelle, a French designer, motorcycle racer and enthusiast, is multi-hatted, incredibly dynamic and committed to everything she does... And she does a hell of a lot!

Her latest creation is the Théia moto company, of which she is manager. With the development of this company, she set herself the dual challenge of proposing a different vision of women on motorcycles and developing a cleaner clothing line (in line with her societal and environmental values).

Theia moto, motorcycle clothing for women... & men too!

A Philosophy of Vision and Clarity. Choosing the Theia brand means embracing a philosophy where well-being and elegance go hand in hand. Just as Theia brings light and clarity, our brand aims to light the way for women bikers with clothing that reflects their inner strength and outer beauty.

The Theia collection is both chic and comfortable, designed for the long haul and magical road trips. Elegance designed with women in mind, materials carefully selected for their quality, softness and comfort, as much as for their aesthetic appeal. A style born of the French art of design.

L'Esprit M logo - Motorcycle trip featuring a road through the mountains in the center, with the company name on the outside.

L'Esprit M - Motorcycle trip to the Alpes Aventure Motofestival 2024!

First participation in the Alpes Aventure MotoFestival in 2020

L'Esprit M - Voyage à moto had to bring you some memories of the first editions of the Alpes Aventures Moto Festival in Barcelonette, before offering to take you there. Pierre-Christophe tells us about his first Alpes Aventures Moto Festival.

The adventure begins with the road to get there

The encounter with the Alpes Aventures Moto Festival began in 2020, shortly after the CAP in motorcycle mechanics and just before the CQP in motorcycle and quad touring guides! First of all, a new motorcycle, a 701 LR from Huskvarna, a super bike, powerful, agile, durable and at the same time a long-distance courier, in short a must-have for this kind of event! 450 km range and "almost" comfortable. 175 kg and capable of crossing any enduro track, just avoid passing between two trees that are a little "tight"!

On the road, meetings galore. A full tank of petrol and it's time for the big trails to arrive, and the new V85TT gets the conversation going on this pretty bike. Is it comfortable? Oh yes, it's a great ride, straight from Paris! And you? Is the T7 really that versatile? On their side, a slight surprise on the 701, what is it? An enduro? A trail bike? In short, the 5-minute refuel turns into a discussion about the incomparable advantage of HIS bike over the others! Hi hi hi, the biker is quite proud of his mount, it seems to me.

Memories of the first Alpes Aventure MotoFestival

Here I am at the festival, a nice little hotel on Barcelonnette's main square, and it's impressive: the motorcycle parking lot is packed with rarities, old, new, equipped for the raid or loaded like a beautiful mule! And as always, a biker is rarely alone, so the first group welcomes me and the discussion begins. Yes, I have a project, Esprit M (which doesn't have that name yet), to create a travel agency to discover... What? France? and even just the Drôme Ardèche? And yes, what more beautiful place could there be, just a few hours away by train or road? Incomparable landscapes, and just to get here, to Barcelonnette, there are no less than 15 secret and little-known passes! The evening stretches out late under the stars of the High Alps, with everyone keen to tell me all about their route, a real pleasure of exchange and discovery.

The next morning, it's harder to wake up, but a long day awaits me. Test rides galore, from the magnificent V85TT to the astonishing Can Am, in short, the roads are beautiful, the weather is perfect, an ideal day. I ask them about France, but none of them seem interested... So much the better! This is how the Esprit M offer came about: meetings, discoveries and rides.

But at the Alpes Aventure Moto Festival, there's even more to discover, from secret routes to top-notch organization, breathtaking scenery and legendary riders... But that's all for... the next episode!

L'Esprit M - Motorcycle trip to Soro Motorshow 2024

L'Esprit M - Motorcycle trip to Soro motorshow 2024

L'Esprit M logo - Motorcycle trip featuring a road through the mountains in the center, with the company name on the outside.

L'Esprit M - Motorcycle trip to Soro Motorshow 2024!

L'Esprit M - Motorcycle travel

Birth of L'Esprit M

A long, long time ago, Pierre-Christophe, managing partner and founder of L'Esprit M, had the idea of working in the world of motorcycling. And yes, 35 years of passion for motorcycles and the open road had won out over a (looooong) career in the office. After years of research, plans (sometimes a little on the comet!), training (CAP motorcycle mechanic, CQP green motorcycle tour guide), L'Esprit M was born!

It's the story of Pierre-Christophe's reunion with his home region, his first few kilometers... L'Esprit M was built in Valence on the mythical Nationale 7 (N7), now known as Avenue de Provence.

Zoom on L'Esprit M - Bar Resto moto

L'Esprit M is a place for everyone, especially bikers.

As you enter, you'll first find a welcoming bar stocked with regional produce, then a dining room just opposite the kitchen where the chef concocts a new, fresh, regional dish every day.

Go a little further inside and it's in the cathedral room that you'll realize just how big the place is. Here, you'll find concerts, bike shows and small mecha sessions... At the back, a small corner filled with travel discoveries and women's (and men's too...) clothes you won't find anywhere else!

Finish your discovery by moving on to the upstairs lounge: the mezzanine with its leather sofas, table soccer and motorcycle magazines (some dating back to the 90s!). From this mezzanine, which opens onto the cathedral room, you could have seen the first steps of the desert princesses, who came to re-discover how to lift their bikes during the boss's first mechanics lessons. You could have listened to Elisa and her band, who is now also our singing teacher, mad about motorcycles and rock & blues.

Zoom on L'Esprit M - Motorcycle travel

This is also where the motorcycle travel agency lives. A very special agency that will take care of you, welcoming you at the bar, collecting your belongings and luggage, which you'll find back at the hotel in the evening, while you, riding your mount or one of our beautiful motorcycles, set off to discover the fabulous landscapes of the Drôme, Ardèche and Vercors, accompanied by Marjolaine, Pierre-Christophe or Jérôme.

Drop by our stand and you'll be able to see one and test its comfort. Marjolaine didn't stop there! Once she'd been bitten by the road bug, she took her A2 driving test with a local motorcycle school, now a partner. And she continues to discover new roads and places every day, which we'll be sharing with you.

The Soro Motorshow

The Soro Motorshow will open its doors for the first time on Saturday June 8 in Régnié-Durette, in the Beaujolais region. Is it a motorcycle event? A motorcycle show? A motorcycle festival? Difficult to define...

What is certain is that the Soro Motorshow is THE new gathering dedicated to women motorcyclists. In a world that is still very much male-dominated, it aims to create an additional space for gender diversity. And how do we do that? By giving pride of place to women bikers, their singularities, their skills, their knowledge, their audacity, their sensibilities and, of course, their passion for motorcycling, while bringing together bikers and bikers.

The Soro Motorshow program includes rides, motorcycle trials, off-road initiations... as well as access to stands dedicated to equipment, travel... Then there are contests, fashion shows, workshops, exchanges... and meetings with guests who are driving the motorcycle world forward... and much more besides.

Whether you're an experienced biker or simply curious about the world of motorcycling and the female exploits that go with it, the Soro Motorshow is the perfect place to immerse yourself in this dynamic and exciting culture. So don't hesitate to join us for an unforgettable weekend of motorcycle enthusiasts in Régnié-Durette.

The Soro Motorshow is the meeting place for women who accelerate!

the story of an obvious encounter

By the way, didn't I tell you about a meeting? Yes, it was on the L'Esprit M - Voyage à moto stand at the Salon du 2 roues 2024 that we crossed paths with Eric, who created this superb show for you, Le Soro Motorshow. After a few discussions about our vision of motorcycling, and after Marjolaine had convinced us of our offer, he invited us to take part in the Soro as an exhibitor.

It's not surprising, since we share the same values in the world of motorcycling:

  • Helping to develop diversity and respect for all
  • Highlighting women's initiatives and achievements
  • Build together a new way of riding, in terms of driving, discovery and pleasure.
  • Rediscover the simple pleasures of the road, your bike and nothing else.

And so, here we are today, to help you dream of our landscapes and roads, and why not take you there for an extraordinary experience.

A look back at 2024

Back from the first Soro Motorshow, the new motorcycle show dedicated to women and accessible to all. As motorcycle lovers and exhibitors, what did we think?

The Soro Motorshow offers a diversity of stands and activities (motorcycle fashion shows, motorcycle elegance competitions, 2-wheeler trials, electric 2-wheelers, 3-wheelers, etc.) not found at other motorcycle shows. We appreciated the presence of well-known motorcycle brands, as well as young, enthusiastic companies. In particular, the latter offer clothing lines accessible to body shapes that break away from the stereotypes proposed by the big names in the field. At Soro, well-being is also emphasized as an additional element contributing to bikers' comfort.

As exhibitors, we saw a real enthusiasm for our motorcycle travels on the part of visitors. We welcomed seasoned travelers who shared our idea of travel, and other curious, interested people looking for real support and encouragement to dare to embark on the adventure of motorcycle travel.

We were also able to meet other players in the sector who share our values, and even initiate partnerships with some of them, which could lead to great collaborations in the future.

In short, the Soro Motorshow is a quality show where motorcycle enthusiasts come together. A big bravo to Eric for this brilliant idea, and to him and his team for the top-notch organization of this first event! We were seduced by this first edition. For us, it was a timeless interlude, tinged with wonderful human and motorcycle encounters, in a convivial atmosphere. We can't wait to take part in future editions, so that we can continue to share our passion for motorcycling with such a dynamic and enthusiastic community.
