Rerun of the Japanese Grand Prix (MotoGP 2024) at L'Esprit M - Bar Resto moto on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at 6pm. Because a Grand Prix on a Sunday at 7am... it's way too early 😉
The Japanese Grand Prix is one of the events of the World Motorcycle Speed Championship. The first edition took place in 1962, and continued until 1967, only to resume at the end of the 1980s until today.
The Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM) uses three Japanese circuits for the motorcycle speed world championship. The Suzuka circuit is 5,800 metres long and has 18 bends (10 right and 8 left). The Fuji circuit is 4,500 metres long and has 16 bends. The final circuit, Motegi, has just 14 bends and is 4,800 metres long.
Throughout its history, MotoGP Japan has mainly been won by Italian, Spanish and American riders. The Japanese have distinguished themselves more in the 125cc and 250cc classes.
Created in 1949, MotoGP is organized by the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme. MotoGP is THE motorcycle speed race that brings together the world's elite riders. The world championship kicks off in Portugal in March and finishes in Valencia in November.
The new format, in place since 2012, brings together ultra-high-performance prototype machines of 1000cc or less. Each brand present tests and improves equipment that will later be found on our bikes. MotoGP is the technological showcase and research laboratory for the brands. It's an elite sport, like F1. Today, the premier class is dominated by the major manufacturers: Ducati, KTM, Yamaha, Aprilia, Honda and GasGas.
To enter MotoGP, two categories are run on the same circuits: Moto3 (single-cylinder, 250cc max, 55-60 hp, tiny 80kg weight) and Moto2 (single-engine, Triumph-supplied, 765cc, three-cylinder, 140 hp). These two categories are the stepping stones to MotoGP for young riders.
The competition takes place over 3 days for the 3 categories, including free practice, qualifying practice in 2 sessions and a big novelty this year, the sprint race. The sprint race takes place on Saturday in a shorter format (around 50% of the classic race). The MotoGP race takes place on Sunday, in the classic format.
Four giant screens installed in three separate areas (bar, cathedral room or lounge) and a top-quality sound system let you enjoy the event in the atmosphere of your choice: friendly, relaxed... with an aperitif.
The team at L'Esprit M - Bar Resto moto will be with you throughout the replay of the Japanese Grand Prix (MotoGP 2024). Drinks include local beers, local wines and house cocktails. The menu also includes carefully selected softs and house mocktails designed and created by our barman. And if you're feeling peckish, enjoy our famous platters of regional specialities (charcuterie, cheese, mixed, vegan).
A MotoGP aperitif is the perfect way to end the day!
